looks beautiful man!  was thinking of a similar color palette for mine.  mind if i ask what your paint job went for?

It'll probably end up being in the $5000 neighborhood, which I think is a really good deal considering all the rust that was on the car, plus some minor dents and some hail damage.  I had gotten a quote from somebody that does really high end stuff, and he was going to charge me over $15,000 without any rust repair, that would have been extra.  I obviously wasn't going to pay that much, especially when I only paid $400 for the car, but the real kicker was when he said "You won't want to drive this car when I'm finished."  Some people are looking for that type of end product but not me.

I found this body shop on Craigslist.  Its certainly nothing fancy or in the greatest of neighborhoods but he does good work and takes a lot of pride in his work.  I originally took it in just to get the inner rocker panels fixed, but when we found more rust under the trim and he was willing to do it for a good price I decided to get the whole car re-painted.  Its taken awhile, but I think any restoration type repainting will take several months.  He's done it the right way and done a good job.

Looks great! Nice job,Its amazing what a little time and effort will do huh.

Yes, this was one of those projects that didn't require much time or special skill to get a good result.  In other words, it was right up my alley lol!  I hope this inspires some others to do one of these projects to spruce up their Eagle.

I'm sure he'd love more work.  The shop is Pat's Auto Body in Denver.  I'd be happy to give his number to anyone that is interested in talking to him.

I do not know how I have missed this topic all this time, but your Kammback looks amazing.  I cannot wait to see the finished product.  Very nice.  Would love to be able to get my Eagle repainted.  I started to do it piece by piece awhile back with a shop in Omaha, but I ran out of money and lost my job.  Now I have too many otther projects ahead of paint on the to do list.

Thanks for your kind words Brandon.

Just a reminder to folks like you and Mavericke who have young kids and are trying to restore your Eagles - its got to be tough to try to accomplish restoring your Eagle and raising a family.  I know I could never have done it when my kids were younger.  That is an advantage we more "experienced" (I didn't want to call us older lol) Eagle owners have -our kids are probably older and off doing their own thing, which leaves us with more time (and maybe money) on our hands.  So don't get discouraged, the day will come when your Eagle will have a fresh coat of paint too.!

Yeah I am also in school full time.  Pretty soon I will be out of grants and paying for school on my own too.  That's why I have been taking the Eagle restoration and the camper rebuild slowly.

Not yet.  I think I'll be swinging by his shop in the next couple days so I will try to remember to get it then.  Thanks for the reminder!
