question about solid front axle

So I have a mechanic lined you to do my drive train swap. He asked if I wanted to put the cherokee solid axle up front. So here's my question; If you put in the solid front, at it's miinimum height, how much higher would it be than the stock eagles independent front. Basically if i leave the stock setup in, I'll jack it up 2.5", if i put in the solid axle, i'd like to have approx the same height of a stock eagle with a 2.5" lift.

I don't think you can leave the stock front suspension and add a solid axle (or at least i wouldn't)

You’re misunderstanding me. If I put in the jeep axle,  I will be using all the suspension out of the jeep. Everything to do with the front axle will be used, no using eagle parts. Complete swap.

If I do this what is the height difference between a stock eagle and a modified eagle of the description I just provided.

Another way to phrase it would be; if I put in a jeep axle with jeep suspension, how high will it raise the eagle before a lift kit is installed.

And to answer the other question, if I go with the jeep front axle, I will also be replacing the rear axle, hopefully with a limited slip diff.

installing leaf springs is alot less labor intensive but the ride is a bit on the rough side compared to links and coils

actually my leafs ride just about as smooth as a stock cherokee maybe cause they are 30 years old idk lol

with a leaf spring setup you can just "cheat" and leave the cross member in, i believe cj1983 said somewhere on the forum that he did his for 400 bucks

you will have to make a new cross member the old one hangs down too low

Strike Eagle left the crossmember in when he did his SAS with coils.

My xmember is cut and reinforced. And moved from original location on my amc v8 sas with leafs

This is something I'd be interested in learning more about. I'm not building a rock crawler... I just want a lifted sold axle Eagle. So the leafs appeal to me, especially if it saves a few bucks.
