From the 1999 edition of "Standard Catalog of Independents".  This is being posted to collect data from members regarding the accuracy of this pricing to assist the editor in future editions.  This information is handy for insurance purposes as well.  You may want to check other sources for value information and of course adjust for inflation/appreciation.

Vehicle Condition Scale Ratings.

1).  Excellent  Restored to current maximum professional standards of quality in every area, or perfect original with components in operating condition and appearing as new.  A 95 point plus show vehicle that is not driven.

2).  Fine  Well restored, or a combination of superior restoration and excellent original.  Also, an extremely well maintained original showing minimal wear.

3).  Very Good  Completely operable original or older restoration showing wear.  Also, a good amateur restoration, all presentable and serviceable inside and out.  Plus combinations of well-done restoration and good operable components or partially restored vehicle with all parts ncecessary to complete and/or valuable NOS (new old stock) parts.

4).  Good  A driveable vehicle needing no or only minor work to be functional.  Also, a deteriorated restoration or a very poor amateur restoration.  All components may need restoration to be "excellent" but the vehicle is mostly useable "as is".

5).  Restorable  Needs complete restoration of the body, chassis and interior.  May or may not be running, but is not weathered, wrecked or stripped to the point of being useful only for parts.

6).  Parts Vehicle  May or may not be running, but is weathered, wrecked and/or stripped to the point of being useful primarily for parts.

Doug's note:  Of course these prices are for non-modified AMC Eagles.  I feel most of us have or will be looking at cars that are in the 3 to 6 range; rarely a 2, and I don't think we have yet seen a "1".

I have 1999 Standard Catalog of American Cars and it lists the price for the 88s
1988 (under AMC-Chrysler Corp.)

Thanks.  Only problem with that is the myth is perpetuated that only Limiteds were available in '88 which we here know is incorrect.  I will add that data to the Limited prices for '88.

what a sx4 DL? i dont know if mine is the DL or not, its a 82

We  can tell from the VIN if it is.  If its a Sport model, then it is for sure.  There was DL badging on the front fenders for non sport models that are DL's.
