998 computer question

I'm selling my old 998, but was wondering what exactly the computer did for it. Could the transmission be ran without it? Guy who wants it is interested.

No computer for the 998. 100% hydraulic. No electronics.

So the Eagle uses 100% hydraulics? What's that little computer thing in the kick panel?

Transmission is non computerized ,

The engine does have some computer controls, that's whats behind the kick panel

There were some versions of the torque flight that had a lock up torque converter, and a computer was used to activate a solenoid to put the converter into lockup. I don't know if eagles used this system or not though. I believe Chrysler also had a mechanically controlled version.

Not even with a lockup torque convertor is there any electronics for a computer.

Yes, no Eagle came with an electrically controlled TF904 or TF998 transmission. Sometimein the 90's Chrysler changed the name from TF999 to 32RH and used the engine PCM to electronically lock the torque converter but all other functions were hydraulic.

1991 was the change. (I have one of those trans cases and valve body for sale) It changed when they went to EFI in the Wranglers.
AMC/Jeep gauges are for amusement only. Any correlation between them and reality is purely coincidental!
