My New Coupe
« on: February 16, 2014, 07:26:14 PM »
As seen in the "Wanted" section, I've been looking for a 2 door coupe, but nothing was really panning out....until yesterday.  I got a call from Terry at the Rambler Ranch, asking how soon I could get out there, there was a coupe he wanted me to see.  After about a 45 minute drive, I got to the Ranch and found this great 1980 coupe waiting for me.  Its owned by Ross, a friend of Terry's, who just had it painted in preparation to sell it.  Terry knew I was looking for a coupe, and thus the invitation.

Its a 1980 basic model, about 84000 miles.  Ross bought it in AZ about 15 years ago, and he said he's hardly put any miles on it.  It's in terrific shape, with no rust.  The only thing that really needs fixing at this point is the vinyl roof.  We've got some paperwork to take care of, but the car should be mine later this week!

Here are some pics.  Parts and pieces need to be put back on since they were taken off for painting, but everything is there.

Yes, it was.  It got grazed while it was parked, and rather than try and get the creases out, the guy I am buying it from picked up a replacement fender from the junkyard, and had it painted with the rest of the car.

Thanks everyone for the congrats.  I'm excited about getting it.  And now there'll be an extra Eagle for the trip to the Eagle Motel this fall.

This will be the first old car I've owned out of a half dozen or more that has A/C.  I'm really looking forward to that.

And the dash alone will make it stand out!

Congrats. I like that light colored interior with the dark carpet and dash. Makes me in the mood for a mocha latte and I don't typically drink coffee.

Mentioning that makes me Look at Kammy and think the same combo is what it had. Dark dash and console light tan interior.
