The SX/4 is steadily consuming vast amounts of U.S. currency.  The first thing I did to the car after it came home was to change the valve cover and this is a shot while the work was in progress.

This is what it looks like now  ???

I hope to have it all back together soon (I said that about 3 weeks ago too) and will provide an update once it is done.

Hey Smitty!  Somebody took your engine!  What a great opportunity to take care of other issues from the windshield forward.

The idle solenoid is unhooked in that pic cause the carter was on there just to move it around.  It is now running the motorcraft carb.  BTW it is a 258 under all that crap.

83Eagle!

Nice work.  Can't wait to see it when it is finished.  By the way that reminds me I am not sure whether I posted pictures of the finished product when I rebuilt my engine.  I will have to check on that.

Sounds like you are talking about the feedback carb.   And, it sounds like you have the non feedback version which many here would say you have a good thing.  And, if you have a non feedback version then more than likely you have had the computer bypassed and many here will add, leave well enough alone as you are envied by many.

i was thinking if im gonna get it to pass emissions i might need to get one of them, and what ever else i need, is the computer inside the cockpit and does a big green plug go into it, with i think 8 or 10 large silver pins on it? because i have one big plug with nothing attached to it up by behind the stereo area.

The computer is hidden behind the passenger side kick panel.  Typically, the bypass is done under the hood.
