I'm pulling the brake booster so I can rebuild my clutch master cylinder. There are four nuts that hold the booster to the mount that comes off the firewall. Three were no sweat. I have been working on freeing the fourth for two days with no luck. It is the bottom left bolt.
I cannot get it from the bottom. Well....maybe I could if I removed the front axle and possibly the exhaust but that seems a bit excessive.
From the top, I have tried everything I can think of but I can't get a wrench on it, can't get a socket on it, and even if I could the electrical coming out of the firewall would prevent me from turning a wrench.
Perhaps if that electrical were unplugged somehow I could get to it. But it's packed with grease (I would imagine to protect the connectors) and I can't see a way to remove it. And I'm so afraid of breaking a delicate plastic retainer.
If you've done this job before and have some advise for getting that bolt, I'd greatly appreciate it. I tried to take a pic but couldn't get it. But I figure if you've done this before, it had to be an unforgettable pain for you as well.
Thanks!
