Left side mirror
« on: August 17, 2017, 06:13:31 AM »
I just took delivery of a 1983 Eagle wagon. It needs a little work including possibly a complete left side mirror. Is there a source for a replacement?

Congrats on the acquisition! I've been looking on car-parts.com. There is a similar named site that is for new car parts but this one searches the salvage yards. I need two of them myself.

Electric or cable-operated mirror??   There is no "new" replacement to be had; but used ones do pop up on Ebay quite often.   Just keep checking Ebay until one pops up.

I don't know about the op but mine were cable. If standard ones would work I'd be ok with them.

I know these are a different style, but the work well as replacement mirrors on an Eagle.  I have them on my Kammback.

I recently gave up on my search, and bought a couple of those universal models vangremlin linked.  Note that they are available in chrome also.  Or more accurately, shiny plastic instead of black plastic.  They are a little light but I need something that will stay in place and it seems that they will work.  Also they are a bigger mirror which will be nice for me on the trails I plan to run.

Here are a couple in chrome.  Just put them on this morning.  My take is that they will work, but I'd rather have originals of course.

The ones I used were Fit System 3671, and they had slotted brackets so they did not need new holes.  I used the existing screws.
