hi I have used two sets of these roller rockers, but both on V8s, a 304 (needed milling and guideplates, and a pre 1973 360, no guide plates needed. Yes, these will work on a 258, bridged rockers on a 304 and 258 are the same thing, but, the head rocker bosses will have to be milled the thickness of the guideplate, usually about .060 . these are called adjustable. the non adjustable need no head prep, as they are "bridged" together. So you need to decide if you want to pay less for the rollers, and more for head work, or more for the rockers (about $400.+ for Harlan Sharp, or about $530.+ for Yella Terra, and less for head work. My 84 258 is slowly coming together, and I have the Harlan Sharp NON adjustable set for it. Not installed yet, but basic machine work is done, and assembly will follow shortly. btw, Scorpion roller rockers are a Great deal for the money, made right here in the USA, Florida, and top quality. I actually called them a couple of months ago to see if I could get a set of non adjustables for my 258, and they said it has been discussed, none now, but maybe going forward. Good luck! thanks gz
