I installed a similar setup in my SX/4 with dual fuses and relays.  That way I can still have lights if one fuse or relay fails.  I also added a diode between the relays to allow the low lights to remain on with the brights.  That way I have 6 lights on high beams.   Huge difference over the stock setup.   Instead of a diode, one can use a 3rd relay to do the same thing.  You need the brights feed to also activate the lows, but not have the low feed activate the brights.
I thought about doing that, but is having both filaments powered too much heat for the bulb to handle?

I hadn't thought about the total heat being a problem.  I haven't had time to drive it much since I did the mod.  I'll let you know if it turns out to be a problem.

The standard sealed beams are 35 or 45 watts and you'll probably be fine if that's what you have. My H4 bulbs are 100/90 watts. 100 watts high beams and 90 watts low beam. Yes, illegal but worked great without blinding people like HID.

I did swap all 4 to halogen lights after the upgrade.

Sorry to dig up this thread.  I wanted to note that the E-123 relays from Metra I find all have 87 and 87a terminals instead of the two 87 outputs that the relays show in your photo.  Is that part number correct?  I'm having a heck of a time finding relays with two NO (#87) outputs.
