stealth stereo

any stereo guys in here. my 85 wagon is a stereo delete car. the radio area in the dash has the plate over it and all the normal spots you would expect to  have speakers, like the dash, front doors and rear cargo area have no provisions for speakers. i don't want to start cutting holes in the panels, any ideas for a stealth sound system.

If you go to that online auction site and search for secret audio radio there is a unit that doesn't need to go in the dash.  I think if there are also some under seat speakers on that auction site.  Send me a PM if you need a link.

There's a speaker grille for the 4x10 speaker above the glove box that is always there, it's molded in from back in the AM Radio days. You can get dual voice coil units that fit in there.

been searching but haven't found anything i like. i have a power inverter i could use, thinking of getting the bose home system and powering it with the inverter, put the inverter in the rear trunk area with the bose unit velcroe'd to the carpet in the rear. woud be small and easy to remove when needed.

I had the same problem with my early 80 Eagle.  The door panels are scored inside the panel for speakers and the speaker grilles bold on.  I got junk yard grilles and even the rubber wire shrouds which connect the door to the body.  There are knockouts in the metal to fit these rubber boots.  I used high end component speakers with tweeters on the upper corner of the windshield frame.  They attach with one screw  (original screw) and the wiring is hidden behind the plastic trim.  The crossovers are mounted high on the R And L kick plates.  A reconditioned amp is located under the passenger seat.  Small rear stereo speakers are in custom enclosures at the corners of the rear seat cushion.  I found a shaft-style head unit which has a front mounted auxiliary jack for my Ipod and CD players.  I even had to cut the fender and install an antenna.  I sold the radio delete plate to Trapper Jack.  Everything except the tny tweeters is hidden and the sound is great.
