I'm trying to install a non-airconditioning package tray in my SX/4 and am having a hard time figuring out where its supposed to be positioned.  I've looked through a lot of Eagle threads but wasn't able to find a picture of a non-A/C package tray to the left of the steering wheel.  If you have one I'd appreciate it if you'd post it.

Priya,

I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for, but here is one taken from the back seat.  If you're looking for something specific let me know and I'll take a photo for you.

Thanks Vangremlin.  What I'm looking for is more of a close up of the package tray in relation to the vent on the left side of the steering wheel.

vangremlin

ok cool.  I'll take a couple pictures today.

The only place mine attaches is with 2 screws at each end.  Let me know if you need any explanation or more photos

Perfect!  That's a big help Vangremlin, thanks so much!

This picture below provided by Iowaeagle shows there is also supposed to be two brackets towards the centre of the package tray screwing it to the dash.  If all you had was two screws on each side maybe I don't need the brackets either which sound like a bit of a pain to figure out the size and make them.

vangremlin

I have brackets like that on the package tray in my Gremlin.  There is a lot less ability to put stuff on the Eagle tray because of the driver air vent, the center section etc, so there isn't much weight that it has to hold up.  And if you have the rally console that helps hold it up too.  I've not had any problems with mine.  Good luck!

Thanks Vangremlin.  I don't have a console so I'm still thinking about fabricating some brackets and putting them in.  The part that makes me nervous is the thought of drilling holes into the dash assembly because its packed full of wiring and I don't want to screw any of it up.

This thread has been dormant for a bit, so I don't know if this will be useful.  I think those holes for the brackets are already there, regardless of whether there was a tray in the car.

I have some dashes from cars with and without the tray, so I'll have to compare and see.  I also have some of those brackets kicking around somewhere, but it would probably take you less time to fabricate them than it would take me to find them.
