Does anyone knows what these seats are out of ?

I would like to replace the back to match the front seats.

priya

I think those are factory original AMC Eagle seats.

Thanks Priya,  I have a 85 wagon and the rear seat is plaid. Which seats would be stock for that year ? I want to replace the back seat, I don't like the plaid.

Check out the colors for 1985 from the Eaglepedia at: http://www.amceaglenest.com/~iowaeagl/guide/index.php?title=1985_Exterior_-_Interior_Colors

Those may have come from a pacer. I think Eagles only had plaid and they had Hounds tooth for a couple years. Those are awesome. My original 80 had that wine color in velour.

I think the one way to check if those are factory Eagle seats is to look underneath where the tracks bolt to the seat bottom.  If they were from a pacer I think there would be some obvious fabrication to make them fit the Eagle floor pan.

I don't know what would be stock for that year in terms of fabric, I just noticed that the pictured seats appear the same as other Eagle seats I've seen.  Perhaps you can find a matching rear seat in whatever the non-eagle wagon counterpart was (Concord?).

They could have just changed the fabric or the cushions and seat backs but I did forget about the mounting points.

Pacer seats will bolt right onto the Eagle seat tracks -- just have to swap over the seat tracks from one to the other.   I'm betting those seats were recovered once upon a time -- Pacers had solid velour seats in the later years; but not in that patterned fabric.   That style seat was also used in the Jeep Grand Waggies; but I don't have any Jeep books showing what fabrics were available.

I like the color and pattern, guess I'll take it to an upholstery shop and see if they can match it.

I checked the seat tracks today no obvious fabrication done. I'll takes pics of the backs in the morning, on back of the seats they have the same color carpet instead of vinyl.

I cant find any info on the web, they may have been recovered, I guess I'll check into having the rear seat redone to match.

I thought about it after my last post and as AMC of Houston says the seats from other AMCs may bolt directly to the Eagle seat tracks so there will be no sign of fabrication.  Rear seats from other full size AMC 2, 4 door or wagons might fit, perhaps you'll luck onto some matching rear seats from one of those.

Ive seen one or two others with that kind of fabric. I supose they could have been out of a concord or somthing but being as there is no mods made to the mounting brackets I would be inclined to say they are probably stock. I like those a whole lot more than the plaid pattern.

AWESOME - I did not know that ,and have a pair of perfect black Pacer-X seats , they would be an improvement in the MoneyPitII - SX/4 .I actually have the whole set, front and back, but am sure the backs are totally different with the fold down thing.

I could be wrong but I believe those are concord seats. My dad had a seventy nine concord and I remember it having fabric seats while my eighty had vinyl and he kept telling how nice his fabric seats were compaired to my vinyl seats.

I think those were available in Concords.  I think a concord I looked at awhile back had those seats. I wonder what seats IowaEagle's Concord has?

My Concord has the same color but with the Rochelle Velour fabric.  Doing some looking yours might be from an '86 Eagle in the Highland Check pattern.
