Hood won't open

i had that issue and sometimes had to have a second person pull up on the hood while i pulled the release. one thing i have found that works really well is liquid wrench white lithium grease (the spray kind). i sprayed the hinges and the latch mechanism and i haven't had a problem since although i will add that it is a bit messy.

Lube the hinges too!
AMC/Jeep gauges are for amusement only. Any correlation between them and reality is purely coincidental!
