I believe the reasoning behind them working on fuel injection only, or at least being advertised that way, is because under most circumstances a carb needs the pedal tap before startup to set the choke and give it a squirt of fuel to prime it.  Of course sometimes during warm weather and such we can get away without tapping the pedal first, but when the remote start is really nice is when it's freezing out early in the morning and they'll never start dry on a cold day.

There was a page about using a remote start on an Eagle a while ago using a regular remote start, and then also using a remote trunk release solenoid on the throttle to prime the carb first. I don't think it was ever actually done, but I'm sure somebody could get it to work.

I installed a remote start on my Suburban, Chevy 350 running a Motorcraft 2bbl.  It worked great.  I used a regular idler solenoid for priming and don't remember having any issues with it.  I did add a TDM and a kill solenoid  in the mix but it was a very generic remote kit.

Tootie got her new shoes yesterday.

4 15X7" Weld Racing wheels mated with 4 Cooper Performer 215/75R15's.  She looks good....
Still need to clean'em and replace the old lugs, but 'm very happy.

Looks sharp!  It's amazing what just wheels and tires can do to make a car look more aggressive vs old and grandma-like.

Tootie's new stainless steel headers arrived last night.  I'm finishing up the Offy intake this weekend.  I can't wait!

Hopefully it will not only look nice but perform nice too.  Tootie is getting a 4.0 head, HEI distributor and of course a Motorctaft 2150.  I found a 2 stage blaster coil yesterday too that has switchable voltage at higher rpm's so I might go TFI and run a relay off of a programable tack (Instead of a shift light, I will have a coil that "ups" the voltage.

The switchable coil is in and not going to work the way I intended it to.  The 2nd (Higher voltage) stage of the coil when switched takes up to 3 cycles to charge.  I will use a switch in cab and switch it before starting.

Just ordered my remanufactured 4.0 head.  I'll have a 4.0 cam on its way very soon too......

Thats awesome Gronk. Im really thinking about doing that on Odie but Id better get a stouter tranny in it first. The old SR4 would die pretty quick with any more horsepower

By the way, In the white 83 there is a brand new 4.0 fel-pro head gasket for the conversion.

Very nice Shanebo.  We still need to get together and do a title swap friend.  I have the SX/4 title in my car so I'm always ready.
