a jeep cherokee is a great winter beater car cause when the cherokee starts to rot you have everything needed to fuel inject and maybe solid axle your next eagle ;D

Maybe I just need a second Eagle! :)

I have 3 at the moment and I have to say it does get expensive.  the wagon is all but finished (except for the correct speedo gear), the kammback is getting ready for it's new garage to get stripped down to nothing and rebuilt during the winter, and my SX/4 is getting a 1980 spirit to donate it's body (among other things i don't care to talk about too much)

1981 Eagle Kammback (restoration in progress)

There are a couple relatively close to me for under 1000...both appear to be decent. Haven't had a chance to check the undersides and one of them has 277k miles on it!!!  :o

I used to worry myself about how many miles the car had when making a purchace....However after purchacing several very low mileage Eagles in the past just to find out they had the frame rail, floor board and spare tire well delete option...I have now shifted my priorities to good solid body. Even a full engine and drive train rebuild seems easy compared to cutting fabricating and welding sheet metal.....Thats just me though...if I knew how to work metal it probably wouldnt have been such a big deal.

Just picked up TQ from getting her windows tinted. It looks very sharp. 35% on the fronts and 20% on the rest.

Also, my glovebox seems to be sitting a little crooked when it is closed. Anyone else have this problem...and have a remedy for me?

The door mounts with screws at the bottom.  I don't remember what kind of adjustment they have.  I have added washers to make a door line up.  The latch is adjustable, but I think that just controls how tightly the door closes.
I'm right 98% of the time, and I don't care about the other 3%.

As Jim said, there are three nuts on the bottom of the door that hold it in place.  There may be a slight amount of adjustment there if you loosen the nuts.  Also, on some glove box doors (but not all) the plastic covering on the inside face of the door has slots in it and you can loosen the screws holding the two halves together and make slight changes to the relation of the door front to the hinge.  On my car it didn't have these slots but I removed the inside plastic cover and slotted the holes with a drill, you have to be careful because the drill wants to go sideways rather than straight ahead or back. To remove the back cover you have to remove the lock cylinder so that might be a problem (I couldn't figure out how to do it so I took it to a locksmith). I played with my glove box door for two hours and got it a little better but on mine its apparent the dash shell and/or upper glove box case was made crooked or has warped and I was unable to get everything to line up nicely.  Yours looks a lot closer initially than mine was.

Thanks for all the info priya.

Hopefully I'll have sometime to take a look at that glove box some more this week. I also noticed the other day I couldn't get my key to lock it.

Doesn't the round headed key work the glovebox?

I don't have a round headed key...two square keys. One fits in but doesn't turn it. The other doesn't even fit in.

On my 83 and 88 one key is for the ignition, and the other is for the doors, hatch and glove box.
Some one may have changed the cylinder or the door for the glove box if that is the only place it doesn't work.
You could probably have it re-keyed to use the same key as the doors.

Yeah, that's how it is with mine too. The key that opens the doors and hatch fits in the glove box spot, but doesn't seem to turn it either way.

So this is what I'm guessing the first of many like it.

I just wish he/she would have left some contact info.
