15x8 rims?

Ok, so I am reading on here and all I can find is rim sizes (for our Eagles) are 15x6 and 15x7.
Is that all that can fit our Eagles?
What about 15x8 (5 on 4.5 bolt pattern)?
Found some and the ad says that they will fit jeep wranglers, cherokees, rangers, explorers, etc.
Not sure on the back spacing measurement, as it's not stated but would be willing to contact him and find out IF these (15x8) would actually fit.

You will have clearance issues with 15x8.  I had a little bit of clearance issues when turning with my 15x7 wheels.  Especially when backing up the tires would rub.  I am not sure on the back spacing.  I know that's been discussed here on 15x8 wheels, but I could not find the link when searching.

Backspacing is or should be 4.5". Anything else is a rub.

Dang, too bad -was a pretty nice deal on these rims...but oh well. I rub with my 15x7 "pizza" rims if I have to make a hard turn but I don't do too many hard turns and do not want anything that rubs worse. lol

Tire size has more to do with rubbing than wheel width.

Width, offset plus tire size cause clearance problems.  If you run the 8's and small 195/70/15 street tires (no all terrains) you might not have a problem.  I tried some Cragar Soft 8's that were 8" wide and diameter wise, I was good.  But the problem came when turning.  Remember the tire is a cylinder, if you measure outside front edge to opposite inside rear edge the required clearance is not the same as it is just for diameter.  It's like taking a box that's 2ft x 2ft, the hypotenuse of that is 2'-10".  That's the problem you run into when the wheel is wider. Couple that with an incorrect backspacing and it's a no go.

The jeeps can run those kinds of rims (even up to 10" wide) with no issues because of much larger wheel wells. 

I tried jacking up the car to see if lifting would help and it would have taken several inches of lift to get it to clear by the most minimalistic amount.

I ran 215 60 r14" tires wirh incorret backspacing. Rub

The tire pros will tell you that if you have an 8" rim your tire should be at least a 225, preferably a 235.  And it seems that when tires that wide are put on our Eagles, the clearance is a problem.

I've always solved the rubing issues on wider wheels w/ aluminum spacers.  The quality has gone up quite a lot over the past 5 years and the price has come way down.  I have 8 vhicles on the road right now and 4 of those have spacers.  No issues.  My Commando have 2" spacers and 12" wide wheels.  Drives like a dream.  I just spaces out my TJ too about 4 months ago. I like the wider stance too.

I was thinking of adding some spacers on my back wheels to give it a wider stance.  I've seen them on eBay.  Do you have a particular source for yours?

Problem is that the wrong backspacing will most likely give you a rub as well. Just the same as a tall tire can.

You can get the ones on EBay for 1/2 the price of anywhere else.  I get all of mine from EBay unless I need something really custom.
