So I saw some of my friend's cars in my class with painted taillights...I just had to do it to mine.  I took an old pair of taillights (they're not the greatest, so if it didn't turn out good I'd be okay). But I think it turned out great, reminds me of an 80's spaceship for some reason lol  ::)  ;D

But there's more to come, I'll be adding some extra L.E.D. lights in the near future...But here's what I got so far...

Sorry, I used my cell phone for pictures...I did the work at my school so the only thing I could do was sneak a photo with my phone

What do you guys think??

Before

After---I put my CB Antenna Back on as well  ;D

I went out and took a video of the lights working.  It's at night but it still shows you that the light is still very visible.  I was just going to take pictures, but they didn't really turn out, so the video seemed to work better.  So here is the video on the link...And yes I know that I have a taillight bulb not working lol

I do not, but I can go take some...

The only problem is that they're not really bright when it's day time, otherwise at night they look like regular taillights.  So that's my reasoning with the extra L.E.D. taillights.

I think I'm gonna call this car "The Spaceship" from now on lol.

What is the center high mount stop light out of? It's always good to have extra brake light visibility, especially with todays drivers. ::)

That is interesting.  I don't think a modification like that is legal in Nebraska.

It isn't legal in Washington either.  Plenty of people still perform the mod though

I'm sure it's not legal here in Wisconsin either, but as long as you can see the taillights light up... I don't see why it couldn't it be legal?  But I do think that it is just little too dark during the day, as the bright sun can make even regular cars taillights hard to see.  So that's why I've decided to add another L.E.D. 3rd brake light and 2 extra L.E.D. turn signals.  I've ordered the Brake light already, and am going to mount that first to see how it looks.  (I guess you can say that I wanna be sure lol)

I don't know where it came from, it was on there when I bought the car.  I think it's aftermarket, like something from JCWhitney.

I'm not in to customizing, but that looks DANG sharp!!!! What you should do, is buy LED taillights and they would be really bright!

Yea, I'm not really into customizing all that much either.  But I kinda have done a little here and there on my Concord and have noticed that it's pretty fun to do lol.  But everything I've done can be easily put back to stock format, nothing major and no hack jobs here...  :)

I have looked into L.E.D. bulbs for the taillights, that's another great option.

Robert, you have one of the few, if not the only, weather gadget working.
How did you do it?  Mine hasn't worked since the forum upgrade.

Trivia:  the third, high mount brake light is known as a Dole light.  Elizabeth Dole was Transportation Secretary when they were mandated.

At least one other person has installed one.  Ontarioeagler of traveling fame did it; I don't know whether anyone else has.
I'm right 98% of the time, and I don't care about the other 3%.

My junkyard save Concord came with one installed, and it still works.  I'll leave it in for the time being, but long term I don't know if I'll keep it.

I honestly don't know, I didn't touch anything... I got mine from wunderground.com.  I don't know if that's where everyone else got theirs, but that's where mine is from.  I never even really paid attention to it, it's always just been there lol.

So amc78concord, did you use the VHT blackout paint I mentioned in the black taillight thread? They look good. You should be legal with the third taillight as Wisconsin only requires one stoplight lamp visible for a distance of 300' during daylight hours. At night you'll be fine if you didn't overdue it. I had my Eagle taillights blacked out in the eighties and I never got hassled for the blacked out talilights, just my dark tinted windows. >:D

Since the lights still show through, I would think that as long as the reflectors still reflect light, they should be legal.
