Wagon in Breckenridge, CO
« on: January 30, 2011, 08:06:45 PM »
I spotted this clean looking wagon in Lot F in Breckenridge, CO on Jan 28, at about 5 PM.  Took a look around it, everything seemed to be in good shape, inside and out!  Colorado plate, don't know if it belongs to a Nester.

Nice looking Eagle. Whats weird is that it has holes for the bumper guards, but the trim is put over the top of the bumper covering the top holes...  Same thing was with our '87 Eagle Sedan, it had a bumper guard bumper, but no bumper guards.  Why not just put a bumper guard delete bumper on right away from the factory? lol?  Interesting

Good eye!! Did they ever come from the factory with that trim across the front bumper? I dont recall any of mine ever having that. The 86 I have now doesnt even have a bumber at so i have no basis for reference LOL

My Concord had that rubber like trim on the bumpers.  It started to fall off so I gave it to another member.  I like it better without the trim.  The Concord has the guards so the trim was sectioned to fit.

Yep, all Eagles had a moulding across the bumper.  I guess they just used what they had for bumpers on the day this car was made... lol

That is a nice looking Eagle.  Breckenridge is a nice town too.  I have not been there in years though.  Need to make another trip to Colorado.  I used to go every summer.

Just got back home about half an hour ago... it was AMAZING! The light was flat and it was a bit cold and windy all day, but it was snowing like mad and there was fresh power EVERYWHERE :D The 8 foot cornices were nice too. Moguls galore, tons of untouched power in the trees much deeper than 9" even.. The drive up there was interesting, and rather hazardous, but the drive back was even worse. Hung out at a friend's place for about an hour and a half and drove home from there, to drop my friend off at his car at hwy 72 and 93... Five minutes before we got there the storm blew in, and HARD.... 70mph winds thickly laden with snow, limiting visibility to the end of the front bumper in a matter of minutes. Took me 4 and a half hours to drive from copper to 72/93, then another 2 and a half hours to drive from Westminster to Greeley... I even made a video of the whiteout blizzard conditions while waiting for him to load his stuff in the car.

Sounds like a great day of skiing/riding, and a lousy day of driving lol.  I was driving in town last night about 11 PM and it was whiteout conditions around here - I'm glad I only had a couple of miles to go.  I can't imagine it out at 72/93 - the wind can be REALLY nasty out there.  Glad you made it home safe.

I saw that Copper reported another 8" of new stuff this morning!

The wind was very nasty.... I'll have to post the videos at some point. 60-70mph sustained wind, chock full of snow
I accidentally drove off the side of the parking lot at that intersection, and down a small embankment then through a 2 foot bar of snow pushed aside from the plows, further humbled by how tough that beast is.

Especially on the climb to the tunnel. I was able to comfortably pull 50 in fourth almost all the way to the summit, and could have pulled 75... where more than 30% of horsepower is lost in fuel injected vehicles and far more in carbed because of altitude. Stock, that car would have had trouble maintaining 40. I definitely did not use the power on the trip along hwy 72, 15 mph with just my parking lights on was all I could do.
