IRON HORSE

Hello,

I wanted to respond to the questions:

Yes, I am in Maryland and wanted to mention that several of the wagons will never be roadworthy, and if anyone needed something to keep their Eagle on the road all ( except two) of the cars are complete all 6 cyl. I had Hornet sportabouts before the Eagles ... but only six of those. The Hornets are gone now but saved lot of parts that fit Eagle.

The sedan has the opera windows, not the deletes ... I never saw too many with the deletes around here ... of course they're all gone now. I am the only AMC on the road here these days. Used to see another Eagle and we'd wave to each other ... when he decided to get rid of his I bought it to keep it out of the junkyard.

Both all white ones are 88's as well as the all dark blue one. As mentioned in a previous post, I remove the grills and other plastic to keep it all from getting weathered any more than it is.

I'll add some picts of the boxes full of parts, etc. I have in the barn.

will be back,   Iron Horse ;D

Hi maddog,

Black one is a 1980 automatic 4wd sedan from Penna, it has a salvage title ... was my original parts car. I took the axles from that one when my driver broke them .. welded the broken axles to the hubs so I could move the car around, and it's still like that ( both sides ).  It's got some rust issues being from Pa. and the vinyl top is shot. Has a complete interior and  engine/drivetrain worked and would probably start right up with a little prep work.

                                                                                                                            Regards, Iron Horse ;D

Good job iron horse, Thats one way to keep those eagles out of the junk yard.
I Don't know why. But everybody's always talking about their STI or That guys EVO, I think I'll stick with my old, but reliable AmC. Did I ever tell you I was Full blooded Eagle?

maddog

IRON HORSE

Hello Maddog,

The last time I started it there was no oil pressure, and its only got 67,260 miles on it. That one is an '88 for which I gave $2000 and a CJ5 and CJ7 both jeeps ran but needed work, I got ripped off on that deal, but it was an Eagle!!  I found out after I bought it that it had ingested the cover plate which accesses the torque converter, which must have bent the converter because there is a vibration which comes an goes with RPMs. Also the kick down linkage was missing, which caused transmission to wear .... I was blinded to all of this , all I saw was an Eagle.
Currently I am in the middle of a trade for this car if the other party will paint my F150.

  Other status:

The cream / copper Eagle behind the dark blue one is my daily driver has 235,000 + miles on it. I drive it 50 miles round trip every day.

The 1980  black sedan to the left of the silver Eagle ( described previously ).

The 1985 silver Eagle with the surface rust has a bad seal at the torque converter.

The 1983 light blue one ( close to barn ) behind the all white Eagle needs front clutch pack rebuild in the trans.

The 1988 all white Eagle to the RT of the silver one has a bearing knock, was like that when I bought it, I was just saving it from the junkyard. It was a loaner at a local garage when they were doing repairs on someones car.

The '87 maroon woody I brought to MD. from Penna. it has a zero miles engine in it and had lots of new parts, but the frame is hopeless which is causing the steering to bind up. Looks OK from 10 feet away though.

The white/maroon 1985 shown outside and inside the barn is near perfect and has 85,000 miles on it. I am adding some of the options it didn't come with, I want to show that one..

The all white shown on the ramps and with the aluminum rims ( not on ramps ) is an '88 that will be my next driver if I ever finish the repairs on it.

The other 3 Eagles '81 blue woody, the blue '85 woody, and the other light blue are the last three acquisitions ... got them to keep them out of the crusher.

                          I think that's all 12 ........  ;D
