What's wrong with the Wagon word?
gotta put a fancy word in front of it like shaggin wagon or woody wagon ..... then it makes it cool 8) I was just talking to the neighbor and showing him Memphis Eagle's wagon and he made the comment that compared to a stock wagon mine is way far than stock, I really don't see it that far from stock heck in about 2 hours I cold make it 100% back to original.

I find the wagons more useful than the minivan.  The only think I don't like about my minivan other than the fact that it is a minivan is the fact that the seats are so @#$%^& hard to remove on my own.  I love the fact that we paid it off in a year abd that it is as reliable ans easy to work on as it is, but I kind if wish I would have held out for one with the stow & go seating.

There's nothing wrong with the word to me but to some of the other young folks......ahh you have to step on eggshells with these kids today. Anyway if an eagle was to be made brand new today in America it would be a 4 door or 5 door hatchback. They would never in a million years call it a station wagon that word has died.
I Don't know why. But everybody's always talking about their STI or That guys EVO, I think I'll stick with my old, but reliable AmC. Did I ever tell you I was Full blooded Eagle?

Yup.  Although my Patriot is classified by Jeep as a station wagon, you just don't see that anywhere except on the title and registration.

These days it's gone from the four wheel drive wagon to something else .... Crossover "suv". Except that most crossovers suck because many of them don't have any ground clearance, a torquey engine or an AMC badge ;) and nearly all of them have optional 2wd, which just turns them into stunted pregnant minivans

Our cars started the crossover craze at a time when no one wanted any part of it. 20 years later as our numbers dwindle, it's the vehicle type of choice... The painful irony.

Pieces are comming together, tomarrow  i should have my final few parts needed for the wagon from work (at a discount) transmission gasket/filter, oil pan gasket (hopefully rubber 1 piece, talk was made to me today of a multi piece ..... if so it goes back), valve cover gasket (decided to go with a thick cork gasket).  I recently purchased a 4.2 stamped aluminum valve cover off of ebay with the exact same mounting configuration as the stock plastic cover (could be good, could become a flower pot if I detect leaks).  The only major thing i forgot to get through work was an oil filter and oil, so that is on the upcomming new list.

I have kinda been put under the gun because as some of you know I have 4 cars here and only 1 that is really road worthy without major leaks or *cough* head gasket problems.  My wife started her new job today and that involves me getting dropped off to work and being forced to hope that i can get a ride home (or walk 12 miles).  i am hoping to get the car in this weekend and at the very least get the new pan installed and the valve cover and just deal with the slippage for a little bit longer (over 3k miles put on the car thus far with the slippage)

Stay tuned for pictures

my new to me aluminum valve cover purchased for 60 dollars including shipping

I got bored tonight so i masked off all of the ridges and the 4.2L on the cover .... Took me about 90 minutes to get this far

flat black is the color I went with, after a good scuffing i added about 8-10 coats of wal-mart cheapo paint (holds up pretty well under the hood)

Now I just need to get to the actual car and get it back on the road and going

Well, got another piece of the puzzle today at work.  We got a newer impala in the shop that had halo aftermarket headlights and a HID upgrade to it that was hit on the front of the left fender.  Needless to say the cheapo E-B** halo lights didn't hold up so the parts manager got a set of aftermarket halos from a local shop that do not accept the HID conversion.  The job of wiring the headlights and talking to the customer fell in my lap and i explained to the customer how the HIDs can't be installed in the new headlights.  She simply told me to take all of that "crap" off of the car and throw it away, so i took the transformer boxes off the car and the HID bulbs out of the cheapo housings and brought them home with me to be installed in the eagle.

I love my job ;D

put a chrome air cleaner on yours doug and we'd have twin engine compartments ;D

Tomarrow the eagle goes under the knife for the oil pan and valve cover.  For some strange reason I got roped into painting a loader (thanks dad), so while I am doing that my father is going to be changing out the oil pan and valve cover without me :(, I'll be in the same building but on the other side in the booth so that i don't have a copper brown metallic eagle with caterpillar yellow spots
