That looks a lot like the 80 Concord Grille that I might be getting from Hastings Nebraska.

After our fiasco with the Toyota Corolla I got for my wife I believe I am done with Japanese vehicles.

I have that grill on my 80 and I have a sport version of it. Most of the concords used vertical bands

You are right.  I did not notice that.

Agreed.  There is one like Bill has listed on that auction site.  It is listed as an 88 Eagle Grille.

I might have one of those Bill.  I know I pulled one off that Hornet Sportabout that was in good shape.  I think I have a second one as the one on my Eagle has no color left on it.  If I have a spare it is yours.  I will look tomorrow in the light.

Ditto on that if 83Eagle doesn't have one.I am sure I saved all the emblems off the 82. It is also cool too see what the power bulge looks like on the wagon.I saved the one from the 82 SX/4 parts rig too for that reason.

The oil drip has returned enough to take the car out of service.  Figured that since i will have to pretty much take the engine out I'll also swap in another transmission and transfer case to remove the slipping that is getting worse.  also playing with the idea of doing an HEI swap while the car is down (auction for under 80 bucks).  To make things worse the right hatch hinge broke on me when I was putting my tools in my car on thursday :(

Agreed.  Sorry to hear about the leak.
I knew that it was going to come to change the pan at some point so i bought a replacement as soon as the old one started leaking.  The 3 packages of JB weld all over the oil pan slowed the leak enough for me to put over 3k miles on the car in 2 months only having to add oil every 2-3 weeks (about a quart).  Figured that since the eagle will be down for about a month I will just get some funds together to do the HEI upgrade, get rid of the rest of the smog equipment, get a color mixed that matches the original color perfect, and get the underside smoothed out, painted , and lined.  Also since i found a guy to put the new engine in the bravada for dirt cheap (I think this is the first 4.3 for him)  I might actually get a chance to get some of the dents and dings out of the body while it is down.  Beginning of the new year is when i am going to put it under the knife and hopefully have a car that will haul me cross country in 2011

Sounds like a good plan Bill.

You have more patience with that Bravada than I would have.  I would have used it for kindling by now.

Bill: there is a product that works much better than JB weld that might help your frustration. It is called Devcon. It is a 2 part. It is actually 80% steel and comes in a 24 hr version and a 5 minute version called super fast or SF. I have used it to seal intake manifold cracks on marine motors without a coolant leak. One lasted 20 years.

heres how to use it mix the devcon super fast steel and spread it over a piece of wax paper and make it thick. shove the wax paper patch onto the cleaned oil pan after it hardens, pull the wax paper off. The wax paper acts as a bandage and keeps the thicker devcon from dripping or sliding off the oil pan. This is good stuff and you can even drill and tap it. It comes in one pound cans and bigger. My first experience with it was in the 1970's in a factory when i watched a millwright patch a steam line with it. I have always tried to keep some ever since. It also comes in aluminum and bronze. You will need the 5 minute steel SF (super fast) you can use it right away, don't have to wait 24 hrs.

hope this helps. check out this site http://www.ellsworth.com/display/displayFile.aspx?docid=50&filename=/Public/Vendor+PDFs/Devcon.pdf

dumb luck sets in again :P I just won an aluminum 4.2 valve cover from "the bay" and looked at the photos and noticed that it installs exactly like the plastic valve cover (2 bolts on the top and 3 on the right side).  Hopefully this comming weekend or the next I will be able to pull the engine to install the new to me oil pan, replace the tranny/transfercase, and install a set of hatch hinges and be able to drive my wagon again ....... it just looks at me real sad when have to leave it at home and get in the new minivan everyday to go to work
