I was in love until I saw that Chevy engine, LOL!!! I have to admit though... even tho it's a vortec 4.3... it sure looks purty! Haha, I gotta give ya crap because I've got an 02 Blazer with the vortec in it... needless to say, I'm not very happy with it. :/

Great build tho man! I agree with you... if your going through all that work, you might as well drop the V8 in it.

wow, I soo wish I had money to do that, Big fat tires and huge coilovers, I think Id stick to the AMC though, and go 360 or 401  Id be able to really tear it up in Moab.

that thing looks great, i have thought of putting a 350 in one of these ever since i saw one for sale about a year ago, never got the chance to buy it, it got sold before i had the money, my friend is now looking at a 4 door sedan and we are planning to do something like this with it eventually, great build, its always nice to see the different ways these things have been lifted, gives great ideas for the (hopefully) future project

Dude, youre making my rusty ole  wagon look bad, I only got 4" of lift. I sadly have been forbidden to make it any higher by my wife. I do however want to put solid axle in the front, and a rearend with discs if possible.

Now that I am done moving and am settled in, I have been putting long hours in on the Eagle again. I thought I would post some picture of my progress and prove that I have not given up on it. I just got the engine in yesterday. After a year of working on it, I am on the downhill slop now.

It's an understatement to say "well done." It's awesome!

I'm curious...did you use a jig to hold the frame rails straight while you welded it up?  Are there any cross members other than those for suspension links and the transmission rear mount? And finally, are the sheet metal inner fenders also intended to strengthen/stiffen the front structure?
