I am wondering if an AMC 304 or 360 will fit in the engine compartment if a1981 SX4. I know the amc V8 was offered in the rear wheel drive cars, but will it fit in the engine bay with all the AWD components? If so who makes conversion parts and adapters?
Thank you
David

It has been done but you will need to fab everything yourself. Some of the rally cars had V8's in them.

This thread has some pics of the 390 in that car.
