Got a US quarter in my change. Our 60's soda machine wouldn't take it, which is normal. It's old, it takes a few tries for certain quarters to take. I have to mention, that old machine rocks. Sodas get colder the hotter it is out; during summer the thing spits out slushies! I'm guessing the weight is off on this quarter; it didn't take no matter how many times I tried it. That's because this one has two tails, aka a 'double eagle.' I took pictures, but I could never get both sides at once so you'll have to take my word for it.
If it were real, it would be worth a small fortune and I wouldn't be telling anyone about it. However, upon close examination it's a forgery; someone made a 'cup' out of one and cut down the other to fit inside the shell. A soldered seam is barely visible on one side. It turns out they are also sold as magician's coins, or trick coins.
I recognize the time and skill it took to make such a thing. So instead of buying a third of a soda with it, I will keep my strange 'double eagle' coin to go with my pair of strange Eagles.
