Hi all,
Recently acquired an '85 Wagon and am now tackling the fuel and temp gauges. Both needles have been "stuck" in the lowest position.
Replaced the temp sensor in the head as I've had experience with these failing, but to no avail. Cleaned up the ground for the fuel sender real nice as well. Decided to pull the gauge cluster out and have a look. A little concerning is a couple broken pins on the circuitboard, two on P31 in terminals E & F. One in P53 at terminal 2. Don't think this is affecting my gauges as the schematic shows these terminals corresponding with a few indicator lamps, which have been working for me so far. See the attached schematic I found on Eaglepedia.
http://amceaglesden.com/guide/Component_SchematicsInterestingly the fuel gauge is now resting in the 1/2 position but with the key ON and some wiggling of the P53 connector, I can get it to jump up to past full, and will stay there until I release pressure off of the connector. So at least I know that gauge itself works to some extent. The temp gauge I'm still not sure.
Any help or information on where these signals are coming from, get regulated on or near the board, and wiring would be greatly appreciated.
