Engine block numbers

Where are the block numbers?  Have an84 wagon the motor has Ben swapped out. Trying to figure out what I have.

my 85 Eagle car was built in Sept 1984, and the engine is stamped '84 and takes the 1984 skinner/thinner oil filter. My 87 Eagle was built in Sept. 1986, and it is stamped 87 and takes the larger/wider oil filter.. Found this out from a former AMC dealer mechanic.

On the 6 cyl. the numbers are stamped on the upper part of the block between the #2 and #3 cyls. On the pass.side of the car.

On 4.0L, after '91 the year was cast in the block near where the axle hanger goes on the driver's side.
AMC/Jeep gauges are for amusement only. Any correlation between them and reality is purely coincidental!
