Has anyone modified the frame for more lift?

Planning to lift my eagle wagon pretty soon. I did a search and found that 2" is the most anyone does since the upper a arm hits the frame. Has anyone lifted 3" or more and modified that area of the frame or the control arm to still have travel of the a arms?

hi, welcome to the den, nice Eagle! As for the lift, be very careful. remember, the Eagle is a car, and has already been lifted for you by the factory. It is not a jeep. Lifting An Eagle properly, so it is still drive able on the street is very difficult, and almost everything has to be fabricated by you. Plus the benefits of lifting an eagle versus the effort required are very few. good luck, gz

I believe another problem with lifting more than 2" is it creates too much of an angle for the CV axle.  Most people that want to lift it more than 2" switch to a Jeep solid front axle.

Solid axle or put a spacer between the frame and engine crossbar, make new rear strut brackets to drop them down and new upper control arms to drop the spindle lower and make it lifted. Also you'd need an angle shim for the trans crossbar.
AMC/Jeep gauges are for amusement only. Any correlation between them and reality is purely coincidental!
