The white button clicks in and out, when it's in I assume it's on cause the red light comes on

hmmm, not sure i've seen one of those before.  where do the other wires lead?  Could it be an antenna booster?

The only things I can think of that an antenna would plug into would be a booster, a splitter, or one of those units that allows you to play an ipod or cd player through the radio

A booster makes sense it's just weird that it not only has an on off button but also it was tucked behinds dash

If your radio is AM only, it could be an old school AM/FM converter.
AMC/Jeep gauges are for amusement only. Any correlation between them and reality is purely coincidental!
