possibility?
« on: January 16, 2014, 01:22:46 PM »
I've seen this picture a couple times and it always makes me wonder.  obviously its photo shopped or something, unless I'm wrong, but I'm sure I've seen this picture before, without this grill.  I love this grill, and i was wondering if anyone knows anything about this, if it's possible.
I guarantee it'd be impossible to find, and not easy to install, but would it be posible even?  I think this looks awesome!

That is the front clip from a '78 Hornet AMX.  You would need the entire front clip from a '78 Hornet to get everything to fit right.

Well it would be amazing to find everything for it, but it's probably just a dream. Plus there's nothing wrong with a stock eagle.

Honestly, I think it's because I saw the eagle first, I don't like the body style of the hornet.  it reminds me of an sx4 that someone put on top of a stand, 100 yds in the air, tied a boulder to each end, and let it drop.  it just looks stretched out to me.  I am coming around the more I look at it,  but the grill's about the only thing I like right now.  in real pictures (obviously not of an sx4) the grill looks great.  I'd love to get one, but I'd be fine with any other grill too. The eagle parts car near me I saw, the grill seemed cheap, and loose. probably just from age though.

Actually, there was an "SX4MX" running around Seattle for years. I found a '78 Spirit recently and would have bought it to swap the front clip to my wagon (single rectangular headlight) but I'm broke as a joke and no job!

The owner put SX4MX on the side and back of it. It looked VERY much like this pic, including being black. I haven't seen it for about 5 years now.

Did they call that eagle a "cheap heap"?  I don't understand how this looks ugly to people, (most of my family) but something like the Nissan juke is acceptable.  I actually read they were adding it to the "z" line, as in 240, 260, 280.  But back to the subject, I read an article about a guy that made a metal mesh grill from a fireplace curtain.  It actually looked good. Obviously I don't know how it'd look on an eagle, but it peaked my interest. It could be a cheap and easy mod too.  I also like grill gaurds on eagles, but id prefer one that's not giant.

Not to be a pain in the butt, but it was actually a Concord AMX in 78....Hornet AMX was 77 & had a different nose than the one pictured on the re-touched SX/4....Just wanna keep it accurate is all... ;)

You are correct.  '78 Concord, my mistake.
