It was rusty, so I painted it. Can't remember where I got it though.

I think it's a pulse-air tube support bracket or maybe a dipstick support bracket.

It goes under the rear flexible brake hose at the bolt threaded into the rear axle. It is meant to protect the bottom of the brake hose. Those two little tabs stick up and fit around the "T" of the brake hose.

It didn't fit there. Maybe because the new brake line is slightly different?

How important is that protection?
My parts car doesn't have it there either so I'm guessing not that important.
