Hey all, It's been awhile since I've been on here... Ran into a bit of bad luck when my eagle blew a head gasket, water pump quit working. Ending up selling that eagle to a guy in New Hampshire for what I'd bought it for. He's since put a lot of work into restoring it. Last I checked he decided to sell it. I was going to go buy it back off him since he was asking a very fair price. He wanted to start on a new project. My original plan was to try and 4.0 swap it once I had some more automotive experience.
Long story short, the day I was going down to look at the old eagle I found one on Craigslist that was already lifted and 4.0 swapped for the same price. It had sat for 4 years... Couldn't resist. The car was originally from Alaska. All of the electrical works as it should minus the drivers window which I just need a window cable for. I've since given it a tune up and new fuel pump, fluids, and a XJ intake and nice air filter. She sounds really nice. The front differential was never lowered, or given longer CV shafts and something along the way caused it to drop out. It appears to have smashed off the slave-cylinder. I put the slave back on but it still will not disengage. It has a 4" BD's suspension lift, 30inch mud tires, 4.0 swap with a t5 tranny 5-speed and a twin-stick transfer case. Locked front and rear with 3.73 gearing. I'm currently waiting on tax money to afford a Dana 30 or 35 front end to attempt to SAS. Hoping to have it on the road this spring/summer.
My current list of plans for the eagle are to SAS (hopefully 4-link if I can find more information on it), 32" swampers, nice shocks, and fabricate some custom bumpers. My father said I could use his welder, I have very little experience but I'm hoping to learn. I want it to be Olive drab with black everything else. We'll see what happens.
