Everything I have I've bought with the intention of using to restore the two that I have. I do have a back seat that is blue that I gave $90 plus $60 shipping that turned out to be a much different color blue than the picture. It looks more grey with blue highlights to me.

I've been pretty busy with both of them............stripped interior, reupholstered all seats and headliners, new carpet in one so far. Both cars are in paint shop until the end of the week. New tires and polished wheels on one. Tires and wheels ordered for the other one. Replaced all the vacuum hose on both cars. New radiator, heater core and hoses on one of them. Working on the grills and headlight surrounds {paint} and new headlights, etc. etc. etc. I've been taking pictures as I go, but it's all still pretty unorganized for the time being. But I feel like I'm making fairly good progress with my 9yr old son for my helper. He has big plans for one of these Kammbacks.

Sounds like you are doing it right. I was considering buying that one in CO, but I don't think I would have had the time or money to do what you are doing. Can't wait to see some of the pics. What colors are you going with? Staying stock?

I'm trying to stay stock for the time being. I'm painting them both a darker metallic grey with dark blue trim. I don't want to deal with fading from the sun. I know it's not a stock color, but should look ok. Should have pics of the work in a couple of weeks.

I was outvoted by the wife and son on the colors. The paint shop screwed up and painted one of them blue.......they're sanding that one down again.....didn't look good at all. One has blue interior...the other is black.

cant wait to se some pics when painted. I tried to get my local yard to sell me a kammback that they had gotten in. it was about 90% complete and was nearly dent free. it even had a serprntine belt setup on it. A few months later they crushed it.

I can't understand people like that. I'm still putting the new headlights, grills, flares, and other misc. trim items. It shouldn't be too much longer. I've been taking pictures, but will still need to organize them

Don't understand why people are like that either. Why crush a car with many good parts or could be restored? Doesen't make much sense to me.

Don't know if that yard is part of a chain, but I think some of the ones around here its just there "corporate policy" not to sell whole cars.  Not sure I understand their rationale, but they don't view the cars as anything but scrap metal and spare parts.  No sentimental attachment to anything.

When the time comes for my kammbacks to change hands they won't go into the hands of the wrecking yards. They'll go to someone who can appreciate them. Of course I don't see that happening for quite some time.
