For all you 4.0 swappers out there, what did you do to plumb the newer style compressor to the system?
the compressor ports are very different

I haven't done it, but you will probably have to get custom lines made at an AC shop. I have the A/C hooked up in my Eagle with the 5.3L. I had an A/C guy hook it up and he took the lines from the Eagle and lines from a junkyard Chevy truck and spliced them together.

I ran my eagle compressor. I built brackets out of some angle iron that bolted to the AMC mount. Then I drilled appropriate holes for the compressor to mount. Then i made spacers to adjust fit and belt alignment. I know pics would help but I don't have any right this moment.

Not all 4.0 AC Pumps are the same. I know of at least three. My 1992 Jeep Cherokee has a different compressor that looks like it will accept the hose fittings from an old Eagle AC Pump. My 1996 4.0 might still work but its different. My 2000 Cherokee and 2006 Rubicon have an intergrated hose fitting that has a different spacing to the bolts and isn't interchangeable with the 1992 version.

Have you thought about transferring the Eagle alternator, brackets, and A/C compressor over as a unit? You may have to swap pulleys.

You also could take the opportunity to get new hoses anyway, as the new 134a leaks out of the old hoses slowly.
