Relocating fusebox to glovebox

Is there enough room?
I have a 1974 dodge powerwagon and have always loved that they put the fusebox in the glovebox. SO much easier to get at when there is a problem or to troubleshoot in the dark.
Also it gets it up away from splashing water.
I haven't pulled the dash yet but the fusebox looks small enough to maybe mount it on the inside left?

Pull the wiring harness from a '77ish or early Hornet wagon. Fuses WERE in the glovebox back then. Shouldn't have problems that pop fuses that often in your car though. I clean the fusebox connectors and put a circuit breaker in place of any that tend to pop.
AMC/Jeep gauges are for amusement only. Any correlation between them and reality is purely coincidental!

Compared to my other cars, it's a voluminous glove box. (They made space to put a speaker in there too...)

At least it's blade-style fuses and not the old glass cylinder fuses. Trying to read the stamped ends on those in the dark is a wold of pain.

Those glass fuses are kinda a double edge sword...their easier to see when their blown but like ya said trying to identify them is somewhat of a pain

 There is an aftermarket "glows when it blows" blade style fuse.   They're more money but really convenient!  Available at most parts stores: CarQuest, Orally, Autoblown even Evilbay. :amc:

My Hornet fuses are in the same place as Eagle fuses, under the left dash. ??

It'll take a lot of wire to move the box from the left side.

This is the first thing that I thought about when clicking. I think I prefer the fusebox under the left dash. As interesting as it would be inside the glovebox, I don't think I have the patience for that without a COMPLETE OVERHAUL of the entire vehicle. So many wire harnesses and everything that I'd be mapping new locations for all kinds of stuff and it's just a mess. Do not want(yet). -_-
