Awhile back I posted my floorboards and the rust I am dealing with. Got everyone's opinions on which repair route would be best (welding vs bolting, etc). Rollguy brought up using rivets instead of screws, and this seems like the route I am going to take.
My question is
What gauge of metal and what kind of metal is best for my floorboard application?
I have 24 gauge on hand but it seems like it will be a little flimsy.
Will be grinding to bare metal, cutting out the bad, using bondo-hair in holes, penetrol metal, CA the new metal in then rivet, paint then eventually new carpet.
Was wanting to weld, even found a few people that claim to do mobile welding. Called them to get an estimate, they said they'd get back to me but never heard from them again
