Converting crank windows to power windows
« on: December 21, 2011, 08:38:04 PM »
I JUST bought a sweet 1981 SX4 and it came with crank windows and manual locks. I want to upgrade to power both. Can I just install the nesasary components, switches/motors/wiring/fuses, or do I have to get new doors?
Thanks!

I would assume that you can just install all the necessary components.

In the case that it takes more work than that, or you cannot find the components, you can buy universal kits to convert to power windows.  Here is one such system:

Thanks. I didn't even know that existed. So then it's just switches and wiring to the fusebox.
Im just glad I don't have to get all new doors.
