2 for 1
« on: August 26, 2011, 10:25:58 PM »
driving home tonight from getting the last pieces of my new shed i saw something that made me do an emergency stop, hop out of the truck, and snap some photos with my cell phone

my father yelled to get my attention and told me to walk down to the other end of the line and I was greeted to this

both cars are pretty solid so i guess monday i get to make some phone calls and see what it is going to take to ither buy these cars or get the owner some parts so that he may get these cars on the pavement where they belong and not sitting beside the road destined to rot.

I hope everyone enjoys

that SX/4 seems to have a bit more rust then the wagon.

That wagon looks complete and in pretty good shape.  Nice find there.

the SX/4 is mint down under (where it counts).  the wagon has been there for a good long time because the unibody rails are sitting on the ground, I couldn't get a real good look under that one

Good luck with getting those two.

I stopped to inquire about one a couple of weeks ago at a local bubba type fix-er-up "garage".  The tires were all flat and dry rotted, the gas tank was laying in the back seat and the interior was filthy.  Car was kind of rough but looked like it had potential.  So I went and asked bubba about it and he said it wasn't for sale, that the lady brouht it in to see if they could put a new gas tank in it and they were in the process of trying to get a new tank.  Then he walked away.  I figured I was dealing with a less than intelligent life form and left.  There's no telling just how long that car had been sitting there while Cletus and Bubba search the yellow pages looking for the nearest AMC dealer for a new fuel tank.  Plus if they had been wanting to sell it they probably would have wanted a ridiculous amount of money for the highly collectable car in their posession.

WOW is right ..... I need the hood and fenders from the wagon .... wheels from the SX. My wife says, how does it feel to want ... meaning I guess, she feels I have more than I need. How can ya ever have enough Eagles I tell her .... she doesn't understand.

Hope someone will try to save 'em ...... regards, Iron horse ;D

That's understandable, life takes priority over Eagles. I wish you the best, and hope you can get back to doing what you love soon.
