soldering the plastic... now that is something i wouldnt have thought of. i like it.

check out the first page pics, the plastic welding (or soldering  ) worked really well.

Under the hood these cars are pretty  bullet proof, and alot of the drive train components were shared with or very similar to jeep so most of those parts are fairly common at your local parts store still...Its the body rust that dooms so many of these cars....from what I can tell though it looks real good...the door bottoms are not all rotted and even the top looks pretty good. Id pay 700 for it!!!

Well, after a couple of weeks of work, she went on the road yesterday to get tires.

Now I'm having a temp gauge issue (got some suggestions, look at it tomorrow), but I'm still glowing from the fifteen minutes I spent behind the wheel!

The car is very structurally sound. Just has what I'm guessing is the normal "been sitting for 14 years" hiccups. I love just looking at her. Gotta get a name now. Not a like a pet, though. I'll wait for her to name herself.

Be sure to replace ALL of the rubber fuel hoses in the entire fuel system.   It is very easy to have a fire from hoses that are rotted from sitting a long time.
