Take the switch to a Fastenal.  They will have the nut you need.

If the original nut is bigger than the threads on replacement switch, you could try wraping the threads with tape, or a small bit of cloth.

I have found odd little parts like the nut for a electrical part at True Value before. Or you could also try Granger.

Fastenal is the largest chain fastener company in the world.  They have everything, can get anything and if not, you can have it made.
