Hey folks, so my strut rods are shot on my eagle, and my dad, my mechanic, and I can't find them. Would you guys be able to point me in the right direction to find a replacement? Or are there any vehicles with similar struts that I could modify to use? Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing the threaded part is too rusted away to clean up with a thread die?   Only option is used; start checking out the junk yards.  The AMC part number is J3235664.

There was a strut rod on e-ay last week.  Might still be there if not under AMC eagle then AMC spirit.  It was used and looked decent.  I do not know the seller.   Good luck.

I just looked on EvilBay; no luck.  Note that the Eagle struts are unique to the Eagle; other AMC rods won't work.   The angle of the part of the rod that bolts to the control arm is different.   Also, other AMC rods are left & right side specific (due to the aforementioned angle); Eagle rods are the same on both sides.

Not a bad idea!  You remember when it was legal to hose down the whole underside of your car with used motor oil to keep the rust at bay?    Aahh, the good old before-EPA days........
