my new 1984 eagle limited 81, 000 miles
« on: November 22, 2015, 03:55:00 PM »
New member here been a eagle fan since I was a kid and there was a gray sx4 sitting in a yard next door, well I got that eagle when I was 16.now I'm 36 and got my first wagon, its a 84 limited, 81, 000 miles everything works.I will be fixing little things but overall its a great driver already. I need things like tan sun visors, rear door arm rest the molding broken by screw, the dash piece/front under the radio is cracked up.ect? My car runs and shifts well, been reading alot about our cars, my car does ping a little under acceleration, but it seems to be going away some with better gas, my question is what is one of the better upgrades you would do the your new eagle?

I am on my second Eagle, and the best upgrade for driveability I have found is the Motorcraft 2150 conversion. One of the den members builds and tunes these carbs specifically for your application. He also sells them on ebay. Look up GRONK performance, or you may be able to get in touch with him on here. Also upgrading the ignition system, there is a great how to guide on here or you can drop some money and get an HEI distributor from summit racing. Getting rid of the plastic valve cover is also a good move, unless you like the smell of burning oil.

I prefer an HEI ignition upgrade as my 1st change. Cost effective and it really does make a difference.
