wheels + tires for a 1987 AMC Eagle
« on: November 28, 2015, 09:46:52 AM »
Gentlemen,
I'm sure this has been discussed many times, however couldn't find specific to my needs  :-\, so :
I want to put 15" x 7" Jeep wheels ( Eccos', Canyons', etc.) with the existing Michelin tires - 205/75/15.
I do not want to modify the wheels arches, and my shocks/spring, etc. seem to be fine, so I wanted to know if anyone has done this and/or do you know if there WILL BE ANY RUBBING ?
If I cannot mount the 15" x 7" Jeep wheels I would like to install some Eagle alloys with the Michelins ( anybody have any for sale ?). I'm assuming they would be fine with the 205/75/15, but let me know if you know different.
Thanks for the advice !

hi 205/75/15 will be fine. May I suggest you go with the factory optional size; 215/65/15  Slightly lower profile, look very good on the car, and you can put them on the stock steel rims, or if you are lucky enough to find a set, on the factory aluminum rims. good luck, gz., ps Eagles are VERY sensitive to tire/wheel changes, whatever you decide, make sure ALL four are the same!
