85 Wagon - Denver
« on: May 17, 2015, 07:15:52 PM »
They put an 85 wagon out in the yard at the Denver U Pull and Pay this week.  I went up there today to check it out.  I grabbed the rear wiper, the trim piece that goes over the license plate, the rear hatch hinges, and the radio pod.  People have really hacked up the dash since it got to the junkyard (see pictures below).

Good job ffor trying to protect what is left by placing the hatch back on Dave. How is the valve cover someone alwayys wants those. even though they are easily obtained. Just saying cause it looks aftermarket aluminum.

edit to say it could be a 4.0 vcover

Thanks I actually never took the hatch off  ;) .  It was locked shut, I did unbolt the latch so it could open and then took off the hinges.

I think it was a 4.2L valve cover but I really wasn't in the mood to try to pull it as I didn't have a lot of time to spend at the junkyard today.  It is probably a better deal for somebody to buy one new with the gasket and oil plug than for me to try and pull one from the junk yard.

People only have pry bars and hammers to pull parts? I hate when they do that! On any car .
I assume the hood release handle is broke.

Hello,
By the looks of the engine compartment the subframe is probably in great shape. U-pull-it junkyards rarely want to sell the entire car even if it can be saved. When everyone has raped the useable parts off the car they crush the leftover hulk ... this is sad to see. This car could have been saved, but on the bright side the parts may keep other Eagles on the road .. I hope.
