Hub cap redo?
« on: June 09, 2015, 09:22:52 PM »
So I have 8 of the stock hubcaps, but only 7 center caps

All of them are pretty beat up and the silver part is  gone , mostly just grey plastic showing.

ive tried to restore them but with the silver and black combo it dang near impossible.

So I took one of my worst ones and blacked it out exept for the cente cap, I like how it looks, what do y'all think? I use a satin black.

Two pics, stock (worn) and painted

I like it.  Especially if the paint matches the trim on the car with the same satin black......Rich

Yes, not to completely copy Dave (VanGremlins) car, but..... I think it looks awesome. I am changing the color of the flares and bottom part of the car to satin black as well, currently its a brown color.

I also now have some end caps, although they are from a wagon I think I can modify the rear ones and make them work, did a lot of measuring last night, they will be black as well (currently burgundy)

I think it really updates the look of the car, the "orangeish" parts of the car are in pretty good shape, the brown parts are currently more scuffed up and tired looking.

I think the end result will be an improvement, I will post pics along the way

thanks
