im looking at buying a 81 sx4, 258,SR-4, 4 speed, I have an 85 wagon with the 258 and automatic. If this Sx4 would have the NP129, will that bolt in place of the one on my 85 with the automatic? Thanks for any help/input in advance.

Yes, the 119, 129 and 128 are all identical bolt pattern and spline count, no matter what engine or transmission.

If you're close to Seattle I have a complete NP129 in good shape for $50. The NP119 has no vacuum goodies needed but 128 and 129 do.
