Looking for a new radiator for 80 AMC Eagle w/258
« on: June 24, 2014, 10:08:27 PM »
Wondering if anyone would know where a good OEM quality radiator could be found for my 1980 Eagle sedan.  I've been looking and all I can find is the cheap Mexican or china made radiators.  Yes, they are Brass and copper but are made out of very light materials with poor quality control.  Are there any venders out there with a good quality radiator comparable to the original radiators or are those all long gone? Any information where to find one would be appreciated.  It's getting old looking for replacement parts and only finding stuff mad in China.   My Eagle does't deserve that after surviving this many years!   Thanks.

Check out the CJ7 rad conversion thread. '81 up Spirit or Concord rad also works IF the cap is offset and not centered!.

Another option would be to find a good radiator shop and have them repair your original one.

I am currently having a quote from a good local radiator shop to have the original radiator recored.  They told me that  they could still get two and three row cores to rapair the original radiator, but they could no longer get a good quality new radiator; I guess I should have bought one two years ago when they could still get them.
