Here is the link to a well researched and well written book about VAM.  I wish I knew more Spanish so I am going to have to translate each page as I go.  You will need to download and save the book to your computer.

You made a space in the link after final before the .PDF and it works when I parse it down (just a mild tech on computer stuff. No training but I wish I had when I was younger) The space goes where the %20 shows above.

I'm okay in Spanish, but you can use http://translate.google.com/#es/en/ to translate it mostly.
AMC/Jeep gauges are for amusement only. Any correlation between them and reality is purely coincidental!
