Rollinsville Yacht Club 2013
« on: October 23, 2013, 12:22:39 AM »
I apologize to anyone who might have seen this on the Nest previously, but I wanted to make sure this annual event was properly documented.

Just like the last two years, I was part of a group that drove from Lakewood CO to the Rollinsville Yacht club, in early September.  Its really not a yacht club, but a clubhouse for a group of cabins on the shores of a pond just south of Rollinsville, off the Peak to Peak highway (CO Highway 119).

The group included Porshes, a Ferrari, a classic Corvette, a Mustang, etc - all sorts of exotics...and my Kammback.  I was interested to see how much of a difference the 4.0 head swap made on the drive up there, with elevations exceeding 8,500 feet.  I was impressed by how much better the performance was than in previous years.  Pepe more than held his own, and it was nice to feel the difference the head swap made.

Here are some pictures of the event (see if you can find the Eagle lol).

I FOUND IT! It's like Pepe is sorta sneaking into the picture with all the new "exotics" :)
My list of my cars/toys (or toys at my disposal!)

1985 AMC Eagle Sportwagon
2017 Mercedes-Benz C300 4Matic
1993 Mercedes-Benz 500SL
2016 Triumph Bonneville
 1962 Cruisers Inc Mahogany Outboard

I like to to tell people my Eagle is like a Ferrari. It's quirky, tempermental, border-line exotic, and something you don't see everyday.  See? Makes perfect sense....

I spot an old VW Camper in the second picture! Though it looks like it's just been sitting there awhile.

It looks like Pepe photobombed an exotic car car club in the first pic!
Take my advice, I'm not using it...
