Re-recruiting members

I know we'd all like to see more activity here at the Den, and would like lots of the members of the old site to join in on the fun.  I plan to start PM'ing some of the members from posts earlier this year, members who haven't shown up here yet.  Nothing too high pressure, just making sure they are aware of the Den and inviting them to join us.  Hopefully, their profile is set up to receive an email when they get a PM, and they'll at least check out the Den.

If anybody thinks this is a REALLY bad idea, let me know.

Also, if anybody wants to join me in this effort, please feel free to.  Some lost members might get more than one PM, but that will just show them how much they are really missed.

Great idea.  Should work if they have not changed the e-mail address they were using when they joined.

ive also found that the threads members are subscribed to will shoot out an email to let them no the thread is updated

I don't think my approach has been very successful so far.  None of the members I sent a PM to have shown up in the Den.  It could be they don't even know they've gotten a PM, as you can choose in your profile not to receive an email when you get a PM.  I'll try emailing some of them if they have their email address in their profile.

Even back when the Nest was going strong only a small percentage of the registered members were active on an ongoing basis.  Don't be discouraged.

Here I am! The other users will have to log into this site in order to receive any pm's sent to them. Might I suggest sending directly to any personal e-mail addresses that current users have on file. Happy to be here and looking forward to picking right back up where we left off.

....HI     I have been sending emails and pms to see if I could get some reply's out of about 10 I received one reply ......I was happy to get one to come back still waiting on others ...I have ben working allover but now I think I will work on the ....T's     and see what happens ..............don
